Most notebook manufacturers nowadays produce newer models that dwell on Intel's Core M chips. However, it's a different attack for Apple which is known for its more advanced innovations and for brilliantly out-thinking its major rivals.

Known for setting the bar, it is speculated that the tech giant will be coming out with a MacBook Air with Retina display equipped with Intel's Core M chip but most especially this new notebook might have the Touch ID feature. Basically, the Core M is the perfect tandem for the Retina MacBook Air but with the addition of Touch ID, the speculated notebook to hit 2015 might be a powerful one.

The rumoured announcement of the 12-inch Retina MacBook Air is expected to be held around the time of Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in June next year. With the recent launch of the Retina MacBook Pro and the Retina iMacs, the speculation of having a Retina MacBook Air model might be possible, Tapscape reports.

According to Gadgets Insiders, it is possible that Apple might incorporate the Touch ID technology into the new MacBooks in 2015. However, such possibility doesn't seem to be a very wise idea. Apple's Touch ID fingerprint feature was obviously a major add-on for the iPhone 5, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that the consumers would likely consider. The feature has also been a major selling point for the new iPad Air 2. The Touch ID is primarily a mobile-centric feature and is more popular to the mentioned devices mainly because of its added security and convenience most especially when engaging on purchases via iTunes. With that said there is the probability that it might not make it to Apple's new batch of MacBooks for 2015.

The possibility of a Retina MacBook Air with Touch ID is perhaps a far flung idea for 2015. But with Apple's innovations as seen in the past, nothing might be impossible. Apple is also known as a tech company which focuses on features and functionality for marketing purposes rather than for its technical benefits.
