The annual recognition was formerly called “Zeitgeist” report, but the tech giant has replaced the title with a more ear-friendly name dubbed as “Year in Search”. Google has released the details of the top searches made throughout the year under various categories.

Not so surprisingly, some of Apple Inc.’s flagships have ranked highly among the most trending in the consumer electronics category. Apple’s most talked about device the iPhone 6 taking the number one spot, the soon to be released Apple Watch in number 8 and the iPad Air landing on the tenth spot, BGR reports.

There are other popular search terms that stood out in the consumer electronics category. Samsung devices also had its fair share on the list, with the Galaxy S5 in second which is just right behind the iPhone 6 and the Note 4 which landed as fifth most trending. Google’s Nexus 6 is third on the ranking followed by Motorola’s Moto G on the fourth spot. LG’s G3 takes the sixth spot followed by the popular gaming console Xbox One which takes the seventh spot and Nokia X is number 9 on the top-ten-list.

In addition, Google’s “Year in Search” has also listed 2014’s top trending searches which placed the late Robin Williams as the most searched “term” for the year followed by the World Cup in second. Malaysia Airlines on number four followed by “ALS Ice Bucket Challenge”. Google has also listed the controversial Flappy Bird app which is number six on the trending searches category while Disney’s hit animation film “Frozen” lands on the ninth spot.

Jennifer Lawrence is this year’s number one under the most trending people category while Real Madrid’s Colombian footballer James Rodriguez is the most trending athlete for 2014. The Ebola virus maybe third on trending searches category but ranks as this year’s most trending global news while the World Cup 2014 tops the Google Doodles category. Google also came up with a list of trending YouTube videos wherein the video post of the “Mutant Giant Spider Dog” was top on the list.
