The Apple Watch was one of the most sought after products during Black Friday 2015. A market analysis firm revealed the Apple Watch, which began with a slow sales start when it launched, is currently very much in demand at retailers like Best Buy and Target.

Best Buy is offering the Apple Watch Sports Edition at a discounted price tag of $249 (AU$346) from its usual price of $349 (AU$485). B&H Photo Video is also selling the Apple smartwatch for $249 (AU$346).

Apple Watch was launched last April in the U.S. During the second quarter of this year, the Cupertino company only shipped 3.6 million units of the Apple Watch. Initial sales reports from Apple Watch weren’t as impressive as those for the iPhone or iPad, the New York Post reported.

Daniel Ives, a market analyst from FBR Capital Markets, claimed the reason behind the slow start in Apple Watch sales was the shortage of its supply. Other reports blamed the expensive price tag of the Apple Watch for its poor sales at the beginning.

According to Forbes, the Apple Watch was found to be one of the best selling products during the Black Friday 2015 sales for Target. Target is selling the Apple Watch for $349 (AU$485) and is also giving away a $100 (AU$139) gift card along with the wearable gadget. The Apple Watch was also one of the strongest selling products for Best Buy during Black Friday.

Sales of the Apple Watch all of a sudden shot up during this holiday. Ives added that since the popularity of the Apple Watch resurrected unexpectedly at Apple, Best Buy and Target stores, it’s likely Apple might ship nearly five to six million units for the last month of this year.

As of this writing, there’s no official record available of Apple Watch sales during Black Friday. The exact figures may become available soon.
