2016 seems to be a busy year for Apple. After the release of the much anticipated 4-ich iPhone SE and the smaller 9.7-inch iPad Pro, Apple is said to be gearing up to unveil the next generation of Apple Watch and 2016 versions of MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, followed by its flagship iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (Pro).

Apple analyst Brian White of Wall Street firm Drexel Hamilton believes that the Cupertino-based tech company could release the refreshed version of Apple Watch at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016. According to White the Apple Watch 2 will be 20-40 percent thinner than its previous iteration.

Earlier rumours indicated that the Apple Watch 2 release date will fall sometime in September. Apple announced the original Apple Watch in September 2014.

The much rumoured Apple Watch 2 is said to arrive with a bagful of new high-end features and innovative technology.

According to Apple Insider, a patent application filed by Apple indicated that the new generation of wearable might be fully functional medical device , enabling users to get assistance at the time of specific medical emergencies.

The patent published by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) shows that Apple might equip its next generation of Apple Watch with sensors that can monitor health conditions of the user and send out necessary alerts for immediate care.

Another patent application, published by the USPTO in September 2015 titled “volume control for mobile device using a wireless device” indicated possible inclusion of one more feature. The filing reveals that the upcoming Apple Watch 2 might automatically adjust the iPhone’s alert volume according to the noise level of its surroundings.

In the line of previous predictions made by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Brian White also foresees the iPhone 7 Plus (Pro) with a dual-camera module. He claims that the mass production of the next generation of iPhone 6s will commence from July 2016.

Apple’s WWDC 2016 event will likely to take place between June 13 and June 17 at the Moscone West convention center in San Francisco, California.
