There had been no precedent that Apple Inc had confirmed any release dates for their new operating system, but the Apple Sept 10 event can give Apple fans hints on when iOS 7 will be available for download.

In an estimate from Josh Smith of GottaBeMobile, he said that if the iPhone 5S is to be launched on Sept 10, by which its pre-orders start on Sep 13 and its roll out on Sep 20, the iOS 7 release date will probably scheduled on Sept 18.

Apple had used the same timing with its previous release of its operating system - iOS 3 was released two days before the iPhone 3GS; iOS 4 was released three days before the iPhone 4; iOS 5 was released two days before the iPhone 4S; and iOS 6 was released two days before the iPhone 5.

However, the iOS 7 update will not be available for iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 users, as some analysts said.

For those who are on iOS 6, they can flawlessly update to iOS 7 through Apple's over-the-air updates. They can even do an update without even plugging in to a computer.

Apple users are expected to receive an update notification at 10am Pacific, 1 PM eastern on the iOS 7 release day.

iOS 7 updates will be available to the following iPhone devices:

  • iPhone 5
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPhone 4
  • iPad 2
  • iPad 3
  • iPad 4
  • iPad mini
  • iPod Touch 5th generation

The iOS 7 will excite Apple users with a new look, a redesigned spotlight search feature, more options and features for Siri, new look and improve feature for olders, live wallpapers and panoramas, iOS 7 iPhone and iPad controllers, new camera app with filters, iCloud keychain, iTunes radio, improved background refresh, new photos app and videos on photo stream, a more convenient way of connecting to Flicker and Vimeo, new Safari feature, automatic app updates, a do not disturb button, new lock screen, air drop sharing, security options, individual app data usage, new iOs 7 multitasking, control center and block calls and texts features.
