Apple Inc.'s next generation iPad 3 is already in full production in China and is expected to go on sale on March.

An unnamed source from one of Apple's manufacturing partners in Asia, production is already in full swing with factories running 24 hours a day in China, according to a Bloomberg report. Apple plans to reach full volume by February. Last week Pegatron Technology, a major manufacturer of the iPad was reported to have begun production on an order of iPad 3 units.

The new tablet will have a high-definition screen, a faster processor and 4G Long Term Evolutionary capability. Apple is bringing 4G capability to the iPad before the iPhone because the tablet has a bigger battery to support the power requirements of the technology. The new display will have a better resolution than the current model of the iPad. The pixels will be small enough to make the images look like printed material.

The iPad 3 is supposed to be the same thickness as the iPad 2, according to a Cult of Mac report going against current speculation that the new tablet would be thicker than the iPad 2. According to a major manufacturer the next generation iPad will be thinner than the current model. A thicker iPad 3 would go against the Apple trend of making new devices thinner than their predecessors.

In another rumor this time about the processor, Imagination Technologies new PowerVR Series 6 GPU core family could deliver 20 times the processing speed of current processors. Apple already uses graphic processors from Imagination Technologies and although Imagination never names Apple as its client, Apple has ownership of a stake in the company. If this is true the next iPad could be as fast as current PCs making tablets the go-to devices for computing needs.
