Apple and Nike announced on Monday that Apple Watch Nike+ will be available on Oct. 28. It is a combination of Apple Watch Series 2 unique features and the new Nike+ Run Club app.

The highlight of the Apple Watch Nike+ is to help runners to become more motivated as they try to achieve their performance goals.

“Running is one of the world’s most popular activities for staying in shape and being healthy, and with Apple Watch Nike+, runners will be even more motivated to achieve their performance goals,” Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer said in a press release. “The response so far has been incredible and we’re thrilled to get Apple Watch Nike+ onto customers’ wrists starting Friday.”

The Nike+ Run Club app provides guidance from the world's best coaches and athletes. It also offers coaching plans that are adaptable to a unique progress and schedule of the owner. It has Activity Rings, Heart Rate, Stopwatch and Weather that aim to motivate the runners and to keep them informed.

Apple Watch Nike+ features unique Nike’s iconic style faces and Nike Sport Bands. The Apple Watch Nike+ comes in two different case sizes 38 mm at US$369 (AU$485) and in 42 mm at US$399 (AU$485 ). The Nike Sport Bands color combinations include Black/Volt, Black/Cool Grey, Flat Silver/White and Flat Silver/Volt.

It has a water resistant feature that can be used for shallow-water activities. However, it is not suitable for activities including scuba diving and waterskiing because the Apple Watch Nike+ has water resistance rating of 50 metres.
