Reports from reliable sources claim that a revamped MacBook Air lineup will see the light of the day at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in 2016 . Instead of the standard 11- and 13-inch screens, Apple will also include a bigger 15-inch version to the lineup.

Taiwanese publication Economic Daily News, states that the Cupertino tech giant will completely redesign the new MacBook Air range. The new devices will sport a thinner look and might scrap the 11-inch model altogether. This means, Apple might aim to incorporate the MacBook Pro line and introduce two models with 13-inch and 15-inch display screens. With the launch of the giant 12.9-inch iPad Pro, Apple seems to be moving towards larger screen sizes.

The report also mentioned that Apple is working closely with suppliers to launch the all-new MacBook Air lineup in WWDC 2016 which is scheduled from June 8 to June 12. Moreover, the revamped models will also come packed with completely new internal components including a high performance processor.

Apple introduced the MacBook Air in 2008. The first generation of MacBook Air was a 13.3-inch device and considered to be the thinnest notebook. Since then, every year Apple has been updating its MacBook Air range, but now for the first time it will see a complete redesign.

Apple's top-of-the-line MacBook Pro laptops are due for a redesign. They currently come in 13- and 15-inch models. According to a report in Apple Insider, Apple might not completely stop the 11-inch model. The report also states that Apple has plans to sell three 13-inch devices including iPad Pro, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro and two 15-inch models of MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

There are speculations that by 2016-17, Apple would merge the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro range. The new range of MacBook Pro might also see a 17-inch model, reports 9to5Mac.
