Apple launches powerful but subtle 'Hey Siri' ad for iPhone 6s
A reverse psychology marketing campaign with the slogan 'Not much has changed'
People might think Apple’s iPhone 6s is little different from iPhone 6 because of the "6s" in its name. That’s really not the case.
To prove both phones are distant cousins, Apple released two new video ads for the iPhone 6s. This is a reverse psychology marketing campaign with the slogan, "Not much has changed". The "Hey Siri" ad shows Siri on the 6s can be activated hands-free at any time, and also sheds some light on just how powerful the hardware on the 6s really is.
Unlike in older iPhones, Siri in the 6s will be available without touching a button. This Siri feature on older iPhones only worked while an iPhone was plugged in and charging. So, users of the 6s can now say "Hey Siri" whenever they like.
The iPhone 6s has a new processor, a more powerful chip that Apple focuses on with its "Ridiculously Powerful" ad.
The iPhone 6s is more advanced than the iPhone 6 in terms of innards. It has a new Apple A9 processor and is paired with a new low-power M9 co-processor that performs all the sensor duties to save on power. To make it more powerful, Apple has doubled the RAM from 1 GB to 2 GB.
It’s worth noting this is the first such upgrade since the iPhone 5. The iPhone 6s has more than enough juice to power a lot of your low-power mobile apps, as well as more intensive power users like video editing apps
With its slogan "Not much has changed”, Apple is taking a jab at rival smartphone makers obsessed with huge jumps in specs. Apple’s trying to send a strong message the iPhone 6s can deliver a lot more with less.
