The HTC 10 is one of the best Android smartphones when it comes to cameras, but how does it stack up against Apple’s previous flagship? Let’s see if the HTC 10 can beat the iPhone 6s Plus in a camera face-off.

The iPhone 6s Plus has a 12 MP primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture. It has phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash and optical image stabilisation (OIS), which is great at coping with shaky hands and jolts to generate steady shots. The Apple smartphone’s main camera has support for 4K video and 8 MP image recording in addition to its HDR, touch focus and face detection features.

The secondary camera of the iPhone 6s Plus is a 5 MP shooter with an f/2.2 aperture. It has the same features as the primary camera except for OIS. The iPhone 6s Plus’ front-facing camera can produce excellent 1080p HD videos at 30 FPS and 720p slow motion videos at 240 FPS.

Meanwhile, the HTC 10’s main snapper is the UltraPixel 2.0 camera, a 12 MP dual-LED flash sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It has laser autofocus, geo-tagging, face detection, HDR, panorama, as well as OIS. While majority of the shots taken with the HTC 10 in several light settings are remarkable, the UltraPixel 2.0 camera sometimes misses the mark when it comes to exemplifying dynamic ranges in times when there is light coming from the subject’s back.

Just like the iPhone 6s Plus, the HTC 10 is able to produce 720p, 1080p and 4K videos at 30 FPS. The notable difference between the two is that there is no available option for 60 FPS videos on the HTC handset. HD videos get an extra boost of levelness with the HTC 10, though, thanks to electronic image stabilisation (EIS).

The HTC 10 also sports a 5 MP selfie shooter, although it has a wider f/1.8 lens compared to the iPhone 6s Plus. The HTC flagship’s front-facing camera also has OIS, which is a first among secondary mobile phone cameras. Images produced by the HTC 10’s front camera are crisp and detailed in practically any setting.
