iPhone 6 is finally here, and it is a good alternative for the Android-running Sony Xperia Z3, specifically for people who prefer to stick with iOS. Here are the notable features and specifications by these flagship smartphones.

Display and Design

iPhone 6 features 4.7 inches of screen display with 720p HD resolution, while Xperia Z3 offers 5.2 inches of screen display with 1080p full HD resolution. Apple upgraded the display by adding a shatterproof glass with an oleophobic coating on top. Sony's notable display engines such as Triluminos and X-Reality are focused on improving image quality aside from the shatterproof glass.

For the material used on the design, Apple constructed iPhone 6 using anodised aluminium, stainless steel and glass components. Sony used rounded aluminium frame and tempered glass panels, giving the Xperia Z3 a premium finish.

Durability And Resistance

Based on the details from Apple's official Web site, iPhone 6 does not have any special protection against dust or water damage which something Xperia Z3 can offer to users. The iOS-running smartphone is simply protected by a shatterproof glass, according to GSMArena, while the Android flagship device from Sony is certified with IP 65 and IP 68 that boasts dust-tight protection and water resistance for up to 30 minutes under 1.5 metres of depth.

Entertainment Services

Both Apple and Sony offer various entertainment features such as iTunes and WALKMAN. For audio enhancements, iPhone 6 is compatible with Beats accessories while Xperia Z3 boasts Digital Noise Cancellation technology when used with a dedicated headset.

Gaming experience on iPhone 6 is reliant on apps downloaded via the Apple Store. On the other hand, Xperia Z3 has a unique support in PlayStation 4. Using an accessory called DUALSHOCK4 controller along with the Remote Play app, owners of Z3 can play games using just the smartphone--yes, without the console.

Camera Performance

Apple upgraded the camera on iPhone 6 using an 8 MP iSight lens with f/2.2 aperture and an Optical Image Stabilisation module. Xperia Z3 boasts the 20.7 MP Sony G lens rear camera with 1/2.3 Exmor RS mobile imaging sensor. Here are some special camera features of both devices:

Processor And Graphics

Apple installed A8 processor chipset on iPhone 6 with 64-bit processing architecture and Metal technology for graphics rendering. Sony used the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor on Xperia Z3 which does not support 64-bit and Adreno 330 for graphics.

While Sony supports PlayStation 4 experience on Xperia Z3, Apple offers a unique technology called 'Metal' which delivers immersive console-style gaming experience and is optimised to allow both CPU and GPU to work together on detailing graphics and other visual effects.

Both devices support wireless payment services such as Apple Pay for iPhone 6 and Android wireless payment for Xperia Z3. Moreover, wearable accessories are also compatible with both smartphones. iPhone 6 is compatible with Apple Watch while Xperia Z3 works with SmartBand accessories.
