The Elago S5C Slim Fit 2 cases for Apple's low-cost iPhone 5C are now available to pre-order at Amazon. Consumers can choose from the available colour choices of black, navy and white priced at $9.99.

The iPhone 5C Elago case offer that includes a screen protector will cost $24.99. The Apple smartphone cases is scheduled to be in store on August 23 while other reports claim the stock date will be on August 26.

Availability of Apple's upcoming low-cost iPhone 5C has been recently mentioned as the device popped up on a Chinese forum and a report from the China Labor Watch. The CLW report brought up the new plastic iPhone while documenting the labor violations at the technology giant's supplier Pegatron.

According to the Macrumors report, CLW claimed the poor working conditions inside Pegatron where employees are working on the iPhone 5C. An unnamed production worker was even quoted revealing what job must be done on the Apple device.

The employee's statement reads: "Today's work is to paste protective film on the iPhone's plastic back cover to prevent it from being scratched on assembly lines. This iPhone model with a plastic cover will soon be released on the market by Apple. The task is pretty easy. It took around a minute to paste protective film on one rear cover. The new cell phone has not yet been put into mass production, so quantity is not as important. This makes our job more slow-paced than in departments that have begun mass production schedules."

Apple's new low-cost iPhone 5C is expected to have a comparable size to the existing iPhone 5 but with a rounded polycarbonate body and a broad selection of colour choices. Additionally, availability of smartphone cases ahead of the smartphone's release is not really surprising since case manufacturers also want to be competitive in the market sales.
