Two of the most anticipated tablets pegged for 2015 release got to be the Apple iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface Pro 4. The speculations surrounding the possible features and specifications of both the tablets have been quite rife. While the Apple slate is expected to be a bigger device, the Microsoft one is believed to sport amped up specifications to topple the predecessor Surface Pro 3’s popularity. Therefore, here is a comparison of the reported configurations between the Apple iPad Pro and Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

Microsoft recently concluded the annual BUILD developer conference. But then, the tech giant did give out any information on the upcoming Surface Pro 4. In any case, Inquisitr says, the Surface Pro 4 release date is reportedly set for October, although, many reports suggested a July release. Notably, the long-awaited Windows 10 will also make its debut during October time-frame, making Pro 4 the first slate to come pre-loaded with the latest OS.

Apple iPad Pro vs. Microsoft Surface Pro 4

As far as the key Surface Pro 4 specifications go, Christian Today says, the tablet will reportedly come with a 12-inch display, in addition to a humongous 14-inch model. Under the hood, the 12-inch Surface Pro 4 will apparently be powered by an Intel Broadwell chipset, whereas the 14-inch display clad slate will opt for Intel i5 and i7 processors. To top it off, the upcoming slate will reportedly come equipped with a maximum of 1 TB of in-built storage space. When it comes to camera configuration, there will be an 8 MP rear-facing sensor unit and a 3.5 MP front-facing unit for selfies and video chats.

Moving on to the reported Apple iPad Pro specifications, the device will feature a large 12.9-inch display, unlike the relatively smaller current-generation iPads. This also means, the upcoming iPad Pro will be the biggest tablet Apple has ever built. Under the hood, the slate is believed to be powered by the new Apple A9 processor and will be backed by a killer 4 GB of RAM unit. Adding a cherry on top, the iPad Pro will apparently flaunt a never-before-seen battery capacity of 11,000 mAh unit.

Furthermore, the device will come equipped with 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB of internal storage options. Other iPad Pro features include the Force Touch trackpad, NFC Radio and a Bluetooth stylus to compete with the stylus-clad Surface Pro 4. Nonetheless, readers should note that, Apple and Microsoft have not confirmed the iPad Pro and Surface Pro 4 specifications and release date thus far.
