Apple has started seeding the iOS 8.1 beta 2 edition to the developers. It has also begun with the seeding of OS X Yosemite Gold Master 2 edition. In the previous week, Apple had released the iOS 8.1 first beta edition and the first Gold Master version of OS X Yosemite.

According to Mashable, the new OS X Yosemite update is about 100 MB only. This indicates that it is one of the final iterations from Apple and the OS is soon going to be made available to the public.

CNet states that one of the developers has brought to light that the new update brings a couple of new screens that may be related to Apple Pay which is the new mobile payment service from Apple. The Apple Pay setup screen can be seen in Passbook app as well as in the iOS 8.1 setup.

Apple Pay will efficiently work on devices that feature NFC connectivity. The iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus, and the Apple Watch are the iDevices that come with NFC chip. The iPad Air 2 which is heavily rumoured to get launched on Oct 16 is also expected to come housed with NFC connectivity, according to The Michael Report.

On the other hand, CNet claims that the iPad Air 2 will come out without NFC connectivity as Apple may want the Apple Pay feature to be exclusively available with the iPhone 6s models. The source claims the users are more likely to use their iPhones to make payments rather than an iPad to make payments while shopping. However, there is a possibility that iPad Mini 3 which sports a small factor may come out with NFC connectivity.

According to GSMArena, the iOS 8.1 beta 2 update is about 57 MB. One of the major issues that is expected to get fixed with the new update is the Bluetooth connectivity issue of iOS 8 which does not allow users to connect their devices to popular car audio systems like Mercedes, BMW, Toyota and so on. Another report from GSMArena claims that even people with iOS 8.0.2 update are affected by this issue. Apple is now known to be working on iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.3 update.
