Samsung has set apart an elite team of 200 professionals from Samsung Display Co. Ltd to exclusively concentrate on manufacturing display products for Apple devices. Starting from April 1st, the crew is assigned to work for Apple, the prominent, prestigious and lucrative American tech giant. Hitting the road on April 1st does not signify that it is an April fool’s fun rather the Bloomberg reports confirm the news after talking to the company spokesman, Kim Ho Jung, who declined to give elaborated news.

Why is the deal extraordinary?

Apple is the high-end contender of Samsung with its iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus against the Samsung’s flagship devices Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Regardless of being the toughest opponent of Apple’s tablets, Smartphones and Smartwatches, Samsung shows special interest in accommodating the display needs of Apple because Samsung has been the bulk display unit provider for Apple for several years and this approach is not entirely new, but the deal is extraordinary as the out-and-out team will handle both development and sales for Apple.

Korean Electronic Times reported about Samsung securing new orders to manufacture the next-gen iPhone processor in 2014 December and now Bloomberg corroborates it. Bloomberg reports, “The team at Samsung Display Co, which supplies display units for iPads and MacBooks helps develop products and is only allowed to share information about Apple’s business within the group,” although there is no official report from the concerned companies.

Samsung vs. LG

Besides the display units, Samsung is expected to produce processor for Apple’s A9 and SoC. Since several years, Samsung’s semiconductor unit continuously sweeps contracts to supply the chips for the Apple flagship devices. Similarly, LG has also committed to set apart a unit to furnish the display needs of Apple’s products. It is a universal fact that Samsung and LG involve in the production of an assorted variety of hi-end Smartphones business, yet grabbing the Apple’s display unit order is also an apple of the eye, as it can be a golden goose for their radical components business. Statistics reports that millions of Apple gadgets are being shipped all around the world, in a four month’s gap and the opportunity to engage in the production of Apple’s component units can become a solid source of income, for Samsung as well as LG.
