It will not be surprising to see Apple create a car of its own according to Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Bryan White. The analyst tells CNBC in an interview that he will not be surprised to see Apple create a full blown car. In fact the vehicle may appear like a minivan and under the project "Titan." As for the idea whether it will be the iPhone of the future, White writes a note to clients:

"Apple has clearly shown its interest in the auto market with CarPlay that was rolled out in early 2014; however, there has never been any official statement around an Apple Car. In our view, as more "things" become computers, we believe Apple is very well positioned to leverage its heritage in the industry developing hardware and software innovations together across a vast digital ecosystem, creating easy to use, aesthetically pleasing products."

Nonetheless, CNBC adds that it is not just about the Apple's venture into the auto industry that is at play here. The real question now is which company or brand will appeal more to the drivers?

Vehicles can be considered an untapped frontier in connectivity and mobility. There are now two major tech players that have expressed their interest into tapping such resource: Apple and Google. Google has got its Android Auto while Apple has got its CarPlay system in 2014. IHS Automotive senior analyst of infotainment Mark Boyadjis shares that looking at Google and Apple's current attempts at the auto industry, both companies are just scratching the surface. The tech giants are yet to capitalize fully on penetrating the auto market.

Nonetheless, both companies also see the potential related to the auto industry's "phone project" market. This refers to connecting the driver's phone seamlessly to the overall system of the car. Boyadjis contends that Android Auto and Apple CarPlay want people's eyes, their purchase intent and many different things within that short span of driving.
