“Attack on Titan” season 2 has been delayed to January 2017.

The much-anticipated second season of “Attack on Titan” will not be released this year. According to Movie News Guide, the delay was caused by lack of creative material. Because the goal of the producers of “Attack on Titan” is to be as loyal as possible to the manga, fans will have to wait until Japanese author Hajime Isayama writes more chapters.

“Attach on Titan” publisher Kodansha confirmed the delay of season 2 to next year, as reported by The Bitbag.

Another reason why fans will have to wait until next year is because of another series that is being directed by “Attack on Titan” director Tetsuro Araki. “Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress” is being held priority by Wit Studio, according to Breathe Cast.

Despite “Attack on Titan” season 2 delay, spoilers are offered for the fans to survive on until next year.

Spoiler Alert! This article contains “Attack on Titan” spoilers.

The biggest spoiler of the series is the death of beloved character Levi Ackerman, who is voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya. It is said that he will die trying to save the Shiganshina trio and main characters Eren Yaeger, Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert, brought to life by voice actors Haruma Miura, Kiko Mizuhara and Kanata Hongo respectively.

Where “Attack on Titan” season 1 gave fans a rough view of the problem, its season 2 aims to give them a different perspective, according to Crossmap.

First, the Reiss family is the real monarchs of the kingdom. Plus, much like Eren’s ability, they are able to turn themselves into Titans. Because Eren has the power to control other Titans a.k.a Coordinate in his possession, he is the number one target. Levi’s uncle will inevitably attempt to devour him.

The identity of the Colossal Titan and the Armored Titan will also be revealed. As many fans have speculated, they are indeed humans who can turn themselves into Titans. The Colossal Titan is Bertolt Hoover (Tomohisa Hashizume) and the Armored Titan is Reiner Braun (Yoshimasa Hosoya).

Another spoiler that the fans devoured is the real identity of soft spoken Krista Lenz (Shiori Mikami) and her lover Ymir (Saki Fujita). Krista turns out to be Historia Reiss and the rightful holder of the coveted Coordinate.

Fans are hoping that “Attack on Titan” season 2 will finally and definitely be released on January.
