“Angry Birds Space” has been one of the more successful spinoff games from “Angry birds” developer Rovio Entertainment, thanks to the familiar gameplay of the series and the unique space setting, which has apparently been used to help teach children. Now that NASA has almost reached the formerly extinct planet known as Pluto through the New Horizons mission, Rovio has released a new level pack for the game, titled the “Angry Birds Space: Solar System” pack.

Previous levels of “Angry Birds Space” didn’t really tell fans about the setting the game was in, but Pocket Gamer has assured curious fans that this level pack is set in Earth’s solar system. The “Solar System” pack comes with 15 levels, each one based on the familiar solar system many were taught in Science class, so expect levels based on the moon, Saturn, Uranus and so on.

There has also been a recent push by Rovio to make “Angry Birds Space” a more educational game, but one that still has all the fun from a conventional game of “Angry Birds.” The new smart bombs for example can now home into and take out one of those pig enemies, but also trigger some trivia about space and all of its wonders.

NASA has actually been involved with this big “Angry Birds Space” update, as a report from Business Wire has revealed that videos about space can be watched in the app. The game also has several direct links to the official website of NASA, so that young children can get to learn about space and the great mysteries that continue to lie ahead for those who are determined enough to do so.

Currently, “Angry Birds Space” is one of the many “Angry Birds” games that have helped the series become a very successful franchise. Along with the number of mobile games for the series, there is also a movie in the works, which should excite fans of the series.

Fans can download the big “Angry Birds Space” update right now so that they can learn more about the solar system. The update is available for both iOS and Android devices, so that no one is left behind.
