Angelina Jolie has had a secret sleepover in Sydney’s Taronga Zoo. The “Maleficent” star revealed her unusual accommodation Down Under while filming her directorial feature “Unbroken.”

The film was shot from late 2013 in New South Wales, giving Angie and her large brood chance to tour Australia.

The actress/filmmaker said that she would often take her kids to Taronga Zoo in Sydney, and she loved it so much that she ended up sleeping there.

“I loved working there. The children learnt how to surf and skate. We loved the zoo – I slept in the zoo three times by the time we left, with your crazy birds,” she was quoted by news.com.au.

“The first morning I woke up in the zoo, about 5 o’clock, I thought Brad [Pitt] was outside playing a trick on me with a whistle. It was your crazy birds! I didn’t actually think it was possible to make that sound that early in the morning.”

When she wasn’t taking up residence in the zoo, she reportedly lived in a 1920s mansion in Vaucluse. Fairfax Media claimed that she and the rest of the Jolie-Pitts stayed in Villa Igiea, a five-bedroom villa once owned by Sir Peter Abeles.

“Unbroken” is an upcoming war drama about the life of Olympic athlete and World War II hero Louis Zamperini. It is based on the 2010 book “Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption” by Laura Hillenbrand, and is slated for Dec 25, 2014 release.

Also set to be released this year is “Maleficent,” a dark fantasy film from Disney about the eponymous Disney villainess. Angelina stars as the titular character, while Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) is played by Elle Fanning.

Her youngest daughter, five-year-old Vivienne, plays the young Aurora in the film, while her older children, Zahara and Pax, have a brief cameo as guests at the christening scene.

Sharlto Copley, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton and Juno Temple also star.
