“By The Sea” director and actress Angelina Jolie has disclosed that she is going through her menopause and simply enjoying the experience. The actress added that she doesn’t want to be young again. The surgeries she underwent as a preventative measure against cancer sparked this early onset of menopause.

"I actually love being in menopause. I haven't had a terrible reaction to it, so I'm very fortunate. I feel older, and I feel settled being older,” Jolie said in The Daily Telegraph report.

“I feel happy that I’ve grown up. I don't want to be young again," she added.

The 40-year-old mother of six underwent a double mastectomy in 2013 after she discovered she was carrying a defective BRCA1 gene that made her susceptible to breast cancer. Jolie also removed her fallopian tubes and ovaries in March after tests indicated that she was highly at risk of developing ovarian cancer. Her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died in 2007 after battling ovarian and breast cancer for eight years.

Even after undergoing so many surgeries that changed her body to a great extent, the Oscar-winning actress has managed to embrace menopause gracefully.

In fact, she has refused to tire down. A press release from Netflix reveals that Jolie will direct an adaptation of Loung Ung’s “First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers.” It is Ung’s memoir about her experiences under the cruel Khmer Rouge regime.

Jolie and Pitt’s sons Maddox and Pax, are even helping out their mum for her upcoming film.

“Pax is doing a lot of the stills (photography). The whole movie is from a child's point of view,” Jolie told People.

Pax, 11, is from Vietnam while Maddox, 14, is from Cambodia. Maddox is reportedly assisting his mother with research for her new movie. He also worked as a production assistant for “By The Sea,” which also stars his father, Brad Pitt.

The “Unbroken” director said that Maddox had to be taken away from the film’s set whenever they were filming a sex scene or a fight scene. During these moments, Maddox had no choice but to work in the parking lot.

The Hollywood power couple, collectively referred to as “Brangelina,” has four other children namely Shiloh, 9, Zahara, 10 and seven-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
