Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who got married earlier last year, have reportedly integrated 5:2 formula in their relationship. They spend five days in a week together and the remaining two days apart. The couple reportedly does this to keep their relationship fresh and interesting.

"Their brief periods of separation help them appreciate each other more. Because they're both creative people, they need their own space and this balance has helped transform their relationship," Independent.IE quoted a source from British magazine Grazia. Jolie and Pitt reportedly share a passionate relationship; however, they have realised that giving space to each other help them evolve as a couple.

The idea to spend a few days apart stemmed while the couple was working together on the film “By The Sea.” According to The Hamilton Spectator, “problems” surfaced in their relationship when “they spent too much time together.” They spent long hours together on the film set and the remaining day in the small rental property, according to Independent.IE. It was when Jolie got chicken pox, the idea of giving space to each other came into being.

Jolie and Pitt started dating each other in 2005. The couple had met each other on the sets of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” They were in an eight-year relationship before walking the aisle. The couple got married in a secret ceremony in France. They have six children together namely Shiloh, Maddox, Knox, Vivienne, Zahara and Pax. Before getting into a relationship with the 39-year-old actress, Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston. They were in wedlock for five years before heading to spiltsville in 2005.

Meanwhile, in “By The Sea,” Jolie and Pitt play a married a couple who is undergoing the mid-life crises. Jolie plays a former dancer called Vanessa whereas Pitt plays an American writer, Roland. They plan to travel together to a seaside town where they find themselves getting close to a local bar/café-keeper and a hotel owner. The film has been shot in Malta and is scheduled to be released this year. “By The Sea” is Jolie’s third directorial debut after “Unbroken.”
