Angela Yeung spends a fortune on her extravagant wedding to fellow actor Huang Xiaoming [Watch Video]
Hong Kong actress, model and singer Angela Yeung (Yang Ying/Yeung Wing), better known by her stage name Angelababy, is in the news recentlybecause of her $31 million (approximately AU$42 million) dollar wedding banquet to fellow Chinese actor and model Huang Xiaoming on Oct. 8 in Shanghai. Prior to their lavish celebration, the couple had registered their marriage in May in Qingdao.
Widely known as the “Kim Kardashian of China,” Yeung married Huang Xiaoming, 37, at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. However, according to Forbes, instead of Kim and Kanye's $12 million (AU$16 million) ceremony in France and Italy, Angelababy and Huang's wedding is much similar to the $34 million (AU$46 million) royal nuptials of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton.
The extravagant wedding of the two Chinese actors reportedly took place in the presence of 2,000 guests. The couple also splurged in a pre-wedding shoot in Paris near the Eiffel Tower. The pictures of the pre-wedding shoot were displayed at the wedding venue on the numerous screens that were installed there. Yeung wore a series of Elie Saab couture gowns for the said shoot.
The 26-year-old blushing bride donned a customised Dior gown. It took nearly five months to complete the intricate gown that was made with hundreds of feet of tulle and ivory satin organza. The gown comprised of approximately a hundred hand-cut rose bouquets that were cut out from Chantilly lace.
Angelababy’s wedding band also came at a hefty cost. Her exquisite Chaumet-designed Joséphine Aigrette Impériale ring is prized at over $1.5 million (over AU$ 2 million). The platinum ring with prong and grain setting has a huge pear-shaped diamond with a bunch of brilliant-cut half carat diamonds surrounding it.
She flaunted her finger jewelry on Instagram a few weeks back.
Angelababy also posted an Instagram photo of her and Huang Xiaoming during their wedding banquet.
The extravagant ceremony was streamed live over the Internet. The viewers were smitten by the holographic castle and the ten-foot tall wedding cake that was shaped like a carousel. The guests were given a bagful of gifts that had cell phones too. The couple dated for six years before finally getting hitched in their fairy tale ceremony.
