Andy Murray is going to be a father soon. It has been reported that he and wife Kim Sears are expecting their first child in February 2016.

Andy, who married Sears in April following a brief engagement, broke the good news to his family and friends, UK’s Daily Star reported. The British tennis star’s mother, Judy, is reportedly deliriously happy that another future tennis star from their clan is on the way. Aside from Andy, his brother Jamie also plays tennis. Jamie is British No. 1 doubles player.

Sources close to the Murray family revealed that Kim recently paid a visit to a hospital for a 12-week ultrasound scan, and that’s when the newlywed couple decided to announce the baby news to their family and friends. Since Kim is only on her first trimester, the gender of their baby is still unknown. Most parents don’t find out the gender until the fifth month or the 20th week of pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Andy began his North American hardcourt swing at the Citi Open in Washington as part of his preparations for the U.S. Open. The top seed was awarded a first round bye. However, North American hardcourt campaign got off to a poor start after he was stunned by unseeded Russian Teymuraz Gabashvili in a three-set match, 6-4 4-6 7-6(4), in the second round.

Gabashvili has now evened their ATP head-to-head score 1-1 with his recent victory. It is the second time that the Russian has secured a victory over a player who is within the top 10 of the world rankings in the last two years. He beat then-World. No. 5 David Ferrer 6-4 6-2 during the second round of the 2014 Barcelona Open. Gabashvili will play Ricardas Berankis in the third round of the 2015 Citi Open.

“It’s obviously a disappointing match to lose but it wasn’t like I was blown off the court in a match that I had no chance of winning,” Murray said after the match, as reported by ATPWorldTour.com . “I feel like I put myself in a position to win the match.”

The Washington tournament is the first for Andy since his semifinal loss 7-5 7-5 6-4 to Roger Federer at the All England Club. Andy is set to play at Rogers Cup, where he seeded second in the men’s singles event. He is also set to feature in the doubles event with Leander Paes. The tournament kicks off on August 10.
