Google's Android One and Nokia's X line of devices are both equipped with Android OS and sold at reasonable prices. Know which of the two offers the best features, decent hardware and wider range of availability.

Software Features

The Android One and Nokia X line both run Android OS and are capable of supporting various apps and services on the platform. However, there are certain differences between the two such as exclusive functions, privileges and syncing.

1. Android One and Nokia X are both compatible with rooting kits appropriate for each model and supports sideloading. However, Android One does not need sideloading of Google Play Store in order to download various apps.

2. Android One offers various privilieges to users; for starters, users will get Android KitKat as factory OS on their Nexus devices plus an update for the upcoming version this year.

3. Syncing options on Android One are supported by several Google services including Hangouts, Chrome, Gmail, Drive, Maps and more while Nokia X are limited to services from Microsoft such as Skype, which can also be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

Technical Specifications

Android One and Noxia X devices support dual-SIM and storage expansion using microSD cards. However, there are notable differences that make one line stand out from the other such as the following:

- According to its official Web site, all Android One devices feature rear and front cameras unlike some models under the Nokia X line.

- Minimum hardware specs for processor chips on Android One are quad-core while Nokia X only offers dual-core processor.

- Software support on Android One is always the latest version. The Nokia X line is still on the Android Jelly Bean version.

Availability Across The Globe

Nokia X devices are sold at the Nokia Store and on the Web site, locally based per territory depending on the user viewing the site. In addition, Nokia X devices are also available on different network carriers worldwide. Meanwhile, Google revealed partnerships with certain brands and network carriers.
