The Motorola Droid Turbo 2, known as Moto X Force internationally, has started receiving Google’s latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade. Meanwhile, HTC One M9 on Verizon and T-Mobile will start receiving the over-the-air (OTA) Marshmallow update from Feb. 16.

In December, Verizon started a soak test of the firmware; and after almost two months finally released the latest version of Android OS for all users.

Users should get an automatic notification of the software update. If not, they can also check for the update manually by going to Settings > System updates > HTC software update > Check now.

To download and install the update, users must have a good Wi-Fi or cellular connection and a full battery charge, advises Verizon.

The update which comes with build number 24.14.9 brings a host of improvements and new features to Droid Turbo 2.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring in new Google Now on Tap, Doze and refreshed app permissions. The latest version of Google’s OS now allows adoptable internal storage via microSD card; includes simpler DND (Do Not Disturb) settings; adds Direct Share to contacts and incorporates better volume controls, confirms Verizon.

The new Ambient Display has been replaced with Motorola’s own Moto Display feature. Additionally, Motorola also refreshed Moto Assist and integrated Attentive Display into Moto Actions, as reported by Droid Life.

In related news, Mo Versi, vice president, product management at HTC also tweeted that the company has received technical approval to roll out the over-the-air (OTA) Marshmallow update for HTC One M9 on T-Mobile. The update will start rolling out on Feb. 16.

Versi also mentioned that One M9 on Verizon will start getting Marshmallow on Feb. 16.

In December, the unlocked variants of the HTC One M8 and One M9 received Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Starting Feb. 5, HTC One M9 owners on Sprint started getting the OTA update. HTC One M8 on Sprint and T-Mobile already received Android 6.0 Marshmallow last month.
