Samsung is now releasing Android Marshmallow update to its older flagships such as Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5 Sport. It also already Android M to its 2016 flagships such as Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

In the U.S., Sprint Galaxy Note 4 users are now receiving Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow upgrade that carries a software version of N910PVPU4DPC1. US Cellular has also released Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update with band version N910R4TYU1CPC5 for its Note 4 users. The users of SM-N910C, the international variant of Galaxy Note 4, is also receiving the Android 6.0.1 update

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade along with Android security patches is now available for Sprint Galaxy Note Edge users. The software version of the update is N915PVPU4DPD. Since the upgrade is coming to the users in phases, all the owners of Galaxy Note Edge on Sprint are poised to get the update by May 2.

Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5 Sport

Last month, unlocked Galaxy S5 variants from South Korean carriers like KT, LG Uplus and SK Telecom started receiving Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. The Galaxy S5 SM-G900F, the most used model of the smartphone, is also now being updated to Android 6.0.1 update. In the U.S., Sprint has released Android 6.0.1 update to Galaxy S5 and its ruggedized edition called Galaxy S5 Sport.

As of this writing, no other carriers of the U.S. apart from Sprint have released Android M software upgrade for Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy S5. The smartphones were launched with Android KitKat OS in 2014. However, these smartphones are now in the process of getting updated to the most recent version of Android Marshmallow OS. The newly released Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge come preinstalled with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.
