Android Lollipop For Samsung Galaxy S Series

Early build of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge has been spotted via SamMobile and it features new camera upgrades such as new exposure control, lower ISO values and shooting images in RAW format. Other notable changes are uncluttered Notifications Menu, disable S Finder and Quick Connect at the Quick Settings and Motion Effect for the home screen wallpaper.

Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S5 has been pushed several months ago worldwide. It has reached network carriers in the United States, several regions in Europe, Galaxy S5 Plus and Galaxy S5 LTE variants. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is still far from rollout because of its current testing phase in Galaxy S6.

For users of Samsung Galaxy S4, network carriers such as Sprint and Verizon have already pushed the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Sprint rolled out the firmware to the regular Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Sprint Spark variant while Verizon pushed the new software with build version LRX22C.I545VRUGOC. Owners of Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition are receiving Android 5.1 Lollipop just like with other GPE devices but the users of Galaxy S4 Mini in United Kingdom will get it due to memory limitation.

Older Galaxy S flagship devices such as Galaxy S, Galaxy S2 and Galaxy S3 are not eligible for the Android Lollipop update for two main factors – end of life cycle and hardware limitations. Android KitKat was the last major software released for the U.S. and South Korean variants of the Galaxy S3 but did not make it for Galaxy S and Galaxy S2.

Android Lollipop For Samsung Galaxy Note Series

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be released by the end of July 2015. Galaxy Note 4 running Android 5.1.1 will have the similar upgraded camera app for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge that sports better exposure control and lower ISO.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is now upgradable for Android 5.0 Lollipop in different territories. Major network carriers in United States such as Sprint, US Cellular and Verizon have released the new software while Bell, TELUS and Roger handled the update in Canada.

SamMobile reports that Samsung Gulf confirms Android Lollipop for Galaxy Note 2 but denied by Samsung Spain. Samsung Danmark intervened and released a tweet that the software update is based on the territory and market.
