Motorola released the Droid Turbo in October 2014 with Android 4.4 KitKat on board. After months of waiting in early July, the Droid Turbo received the Android 5.1 Lollipop software update. Less than a week users started complaining various problems after downloading the new OS.

Motorola skipped the Android 5.0 Lollipop update and announced an Android 5.1 update for the smartphone. The update has moslty reached all users but after downloading the update some of them are complaining of battery problems, slow data speeds and lessened turbo charging speed.

Even before the latest update, Droid Turbo owners reportedly experienced poor battery life and this despite of the device's massive 3,900mAh battery that offers up to 28 days of standby time and up to 48 hours of usage time. Just before the Android 5.1 Lollipop update, users noticed significant improvement in the battery life after following a defined procedure as reported by Phone Arena.

The main complaint has been drastically reduced battery life which is evident from the feedbacks posted on XDA Developers forum. Few comments include, “I have not noticed slower charging but my battery life has been awful since the update”. Another user replies on it as, “My battery has been a lot worse too. Usually go a day and half without charging but now I have to take my charger to work with me”. Another complain of narrowed turbo charging is evident from a users response as, “It seems that turbo charging turns off at 50% battery, previously I think it was around 70%”.

Motorola Droid Turbo houses impressive features to smartphone users even today. The handset sports a 5.2-inch AMOLED display with 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution and 565ppi. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. The Droid Turbo incorporates a 20.7MP primary snapper that is not available in some of the top-end phones. The handset also comes with a 2MP front-facing camera. A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz powers the Droid Turbo.
