Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For HTC One M8 Users Brings 5.0.1 Lollipop And Latest Sense UI
The Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update has finally arrived for the users in Europe. It comes with the latest Sense UI update. The update is now available for users in various European regions like Germany, France and Nordic.
GSM Arena states that the arrival of the Android 5.0.1. Lollipop update was confirmed by Jeff Gordon, Senior Global Online Communications with HTC. According to Ubergizmo, build number of the update is 4.16.401.10 and it weighs 780 MB. Hence, it is best to make use of a stable Wi-Fi connection to download the update. Another thing to be careful about is to ensure that the battery is at least charged to half its capacity.
The new system update brings various new features like improvements to the Lock screen and Notification. It also adds a new search feature within Settings. The update also arrives with the latest task switcher. Most of the updates bring under the hood improvements states Phone Arena.
Users can check for the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update by heading on to Settings > Software updates. The update is already available in aforementioned regions but it is yet to arrive in the UK, states Pocket-link.
The update is being rolled out in phases. Hence, users are required to keep on checking its arrival. The unlocked and the developer edition of the HTC One M8 were the first ones to receive the update. The update code had arrived to the Taiwanese tech giant on Nov 4 and it is expected to reach all the HTC One M8 users in Feb 2. By this HTC seems poised to fulfill the 90-day promise of releasing the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
The Taiwanese tech giant is soon going to replace the 2014 flagship with the HTC One M9 flagship. It is also expected to unleash another variant of the flagship called the HTC One M9 Plus. As of this writing, HTC has not disclosed any official information on both the handsets. The HTC One M9 flagship is expected to get unveiled on Mar 1.
