All the HTC One M8 users who have not received the Android 5.0 Lollipop will soon be able to receive it. Android Central has revealed that the update will arrive for Developer Edition as well as unlocked version of HTC One M8.

Android Central says that HTC One M8 users can nowlook for a system update on their device. The available Lollipop build version is 4.16.1540.8 and its size is 584 MB. According to official changelog, the new system update will bring the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, the lockscreen and alert screen will showcase a new Lollipop UI appeal along with privacy features, a search function within Settings and support for multiple pages on recent apps. Android Central further adds that release of Android 5.0 Lollipop for HTC One M8 has been confirmed by the manufacturer.

GSMArena reveals that HTC One M8 users will also receive the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop very soon. A new video has popped up in Vietnam that shows the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop along with Sense 6 UI running on HTC One M8. GSMArena adds that the user who has uploaded the video says that the new build runs very smoothly and without any glitches on the device. Even though he states that the battery life of the device has improved after installing the update, there is no evidence confirming on it.

iTechPost says that the leaked video only shows a preview of the new build running on HTC One M8. However, the final edition can be somewhat different to what can be seen in the video. It claims that Google Play Editions of HTC One M8 and HTC One M7 are already running on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. On Feb. 2, the 90-day period deadline for rolling out update will expire but it is expected to arrive by the end of January, says GSMArena.
