Brand manufacturers of Android smartphones have confirmed expected release dates of the upcoming Android 5.0 Lollipop update as soon as Google releases the final software version. Check the models below and schedule set by companies about the Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade plans.

HTC One M8 And M7 Within 90 Days

Android 5.0 Lollipop for HTC One Series is expected to be released within 90 days after Google's official release of the final software version. According to the official software webpage of HTC, several HTC smartphones are eligible to receive the new Android OS version.

Android 5.0 Lollipop update will begin on HTC One M8 and HTC One M7 followed by the rest of the HTC One family including HTC One Max and One Mini. After the update for HTC One family, the company promised to release the new firmware to other selected HTC models - though no specific units have been mentioned yet.

Motorola Android 5.0 Lollipop Near-Vanilla Update

Motorola has no specific dates yet on when Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be ready for rollout on several devices. The company confirms that the next generation Android OS is coming to the following models:

- Moto X first and second generation

- Moto G first and second generation

- Moto G 4G LTE

- Moto E

- Droid Ultra

- Droid Maxx

- Droid Mini

According to the official software upgrade webpage of Motorola, Android 5.0 Lollipop is currently under development. Once the software is ready, Motorola will begin working on the new firmware with brand-based technology and carrier partners before pushing the rollout which likely within 90 days as well.

Android 5.0 Lollipop For Google Products

Google is extending Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware beyond Motorola Nexus 6 and HTC Nexus 9 this year. Official blog from the company revealed that LG Nexus 4, LG Nexus 5, ASUS Nexus 7 and Samsung Nexus 10 are all eligible to the new Android OS and will be updated in the coming weeks.

Release dates are not yet confirmed but users can use arrival dates of Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 as basis. Google confirms that Nexus 9 is available for pre-orders starting on Oct. 17 while Nexus 6 will be available for pre-orders later this month. Both devices are expected to become available in physical stores by November.

Sony Xperia Android 5.0 Lollipop Upgrade Plans

Sony Mobile decided to extend the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the entire Xperia Z devices. It means that older Xperia Z models such as Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z are receiving another major firmware upgrade.

Rollout of Android 5.0 Lollipop will begin to arrive on Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact followed by Xperia Z2 series. After that, Sony will release the firmware to the rest of Xperia Z devices. Sony claims to start pushing major firmware updates at the beginning of 2015.
