The Android 5.0 Lollipop makes it to headlines once more as screenshots of the Google Drive surfaced. People can also now download Material Design Icons under Google to start.

Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop has been gathering quite the attention with screenshots of the Material Design surfacing everywhere. Many experts and analysts expect big things from the Material Design saying that it is a step closer to the intuitive approach seen in Apple. The Material Design offers more fluid animations with floating icons and flatter UI. In a recent report by Android Police, people can now take a look at what the interface will look like when using Google Drive.

As many reports noted, the software is still in testing so screenshots may not provide the actual design. There could still be changes in the interface although it is still a sight worth looking.

Google has opted for more colorful, graphical and textured style. While it may not be as flat as most would expect, it offers the same airy but feel that Google imagery has always been known for.

In the screenshots provided, the app still offers that familiar feel with the title and list view located in the same spot. The hamburger remains although it shows a fresh style and iconography. A red FAB option replaced the creating/adding documents bar. The FAB contains all actions related to adding content pieces.

Google also got rid of three buttons at the bottom and included all actions into one button with bottom sheet access. Google's bottom sheet this time bears rounded corners which is unprecedented in Google's spec.

Phandroid also reports about new Material Design icons available for download. Google recently open sourced a series up to 750 icons for app use. The report also provides an overview of what developers can expect from the icon package:

SVG versions of all icons in both 24px and 48px flavours

SVG and CSS sprites of all icons

1x, 2x icons targeted at the Web (PNG)

1x, 2x, 3x icons targeted at iOS (PNG)

Hi-dpi versions of all icons (hdpi, mdpi, xhdpi, xxhdpi, xxxhdpi) (PNG)

The icons are available via download here. Google is expected to release its latest Nexus hardware and the Android 5.0 Lollipop this November 3.
