Google first revealed Android 4.1 or Android Jelly Bean at last week's Google I/O conference in San Francisco. This Android update will bring about new and additional features for Android-based devices.

Not all Android-based devices are eligible to get the Android Jelly Bean update because of the system requirements. Even Samsung Galaxy S3 had to upgrade its RAM in order to receive the Android Jelly Bean update. Here is a summary of the tablets that are supposed to get the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update:

Confirmed Tablets

  • Google Nexus 7 Tablet

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will make its debut through Google's first tablet which is Google Nexus 7 tablet. It is a 7-inch tablet with 1280 x 800 pixels and weighs around 340g. The Gogle Nexus 7 Tablet also has a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 1.2MP back camera. It is available in 8GB and 16GB. Google Nexus 7 tablet is already available in Australia for pre-order. It has a selling price of AU$249/AU$299 and will be available this July (2-3 weeks shipment after placement of order).

  • Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi

Google also confirmed that Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi will be one of the first tablets that will receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update by the middle of July. The Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi is a 10-inch tablet with 1280 x 800 pixels and weighs around 730g. It also has a 1GHz Dual Core processor, 1GB RAM, and 5MP camera. It has 32GB memory with expandable storage. It is already launched in the Australian market and has a selling price of AU$599.

Possible Tablets

Though Google has not yet revealed other tablets that will get the Android Jelly Bean update, there is a possibility that tablets that are already equipped with Android 4.0 ICS will automatically upgraded to Android Jelly Bean once it has been officially rolled out in the market. Here is the possible list of Android-based tablets that already has Android 4.0 ICS installed as its OS:

  • Asus Transformer Pad 300

The Asus Transformer Pad 300 has a 10.1-inch display with 1280 x 800 screen resolution. It has 16GB internal storage with expandable memory as well as 8MP rear-part camera and 1MP front-facing camera. This tablet also has a Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. It is already available in the Australian market and has a price range between AU$460 - AU$667.

  • Asus Transformer Pad Infinity

The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity has a 10.1-inch display with 1920 x 1200 screen resolution. It also houses a 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM, 64GB Internal storage with expandable memory, and 8MP camera. This tablet is the follow up for the company's Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet. The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity will be available this July and would have a retail price of AU$899.

  • Toshiba Excite 10 LE

Toshiba Excite 10 LE is considered as the slimmest tablet in the market. It has dimensions of 256 x 176 x 7,7 mm and weighs around 558g. It also has a 10.1-inch display with 1280 x 800 screen resolution. The Toshiba Excite 10 LE comes with 1.2GHz Dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor and 16GB storage capacity. The selling price for this tablet is around AU$630.
