Roger Federer of Switzerland poses with the trophy after winning the men's singles final match against Gilles Simon of France at the Shanghai Masters tennis tournament in Shanghai October 12, 2014. Federer claimed one of the few titles to have previously eluded him after he overcame a sluggish start to beat injured Frenchman Simon in the final of the Shanghai Masters on Sunday. Reuters

One of the WTA most promising future stars, Ana Konjuh was just announced as the world no. 93, making her way to the Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open. The 17-year-old, who had a flourishing career last year, claimed that Roger Federer is her idol but she is still not ready to meet the Swiss Maestro.

The young girl from Dubrovnik is nicknamed "Baby Serena," which has put in a lot of pressure to her. Just recently, she was able to meet the 18-time Grand Slam champion and world no. 1, Serena Williams.

"Yes, I had a chance to meet her. I was really excited. She told me she was glad to meet me and that she had seen me playing on the tour," Konjuh said in an interview. Konjuh also said that she's been under a lot of pressure because she feels like she needs to justify her nickname but she still feels honoured to be compared to the world no. 1.

On the other hand, Konjuh revealed that Roger Federer is her idol. As a matter of fact, Konjuh's career in tennis started right when Federer was still making his name - winning each and every season and finishing tournaments on top of the rankings every year. Just recently, Konjuh had a chance to meet the 17-time Grand Slam champion, Federer but she didn't grab the opportunity.

According to Konjuh, she is a big fan of the Swiss Maestro but she's still not ready to meet him. She believes that she's still missing some experience and improvements on the mental side.

As the year 2015 comes, Konjuh has so many plans already. Thus far, she is aiming for bigger goals and objectives. After the Australian Open, she had to undergo a surgery for her right elbow but she said that she has already physically recovered from it. She further claimed that she feels very good and she believes that she is ready. She went on to add that those who are more physically prepared tend to always win.
