“Power Rangers” 2017 film is expected to hit the big screens this month. In relation to its approaching release, the film’s cast participated in the Toronto press junket on March 2. To the surprise of many, Amy Jo Johnson, the actress who originally portrayed Pink Ranger, also walked into the room.

The event was attended by Ludi Lin (Zack/Black Ranger), Dacre Montgomery (Jason Scott/Red Ranger) and Naomi Scott (Kimberly Hart/Pink Ranger). Johnson has interviewed the new batch of young superheroes according to Movie Web.

Johnson has been part of the original “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” television series. The actress has also appeared in two films based on the series, which are the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie” (1995) and “Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie” (1997). She has also been part of “Felicity,” “The Division” and “Flashpoint.”

The actress has won a Shelly Award for Woman Filmmakers during the Long Island Film Festival for “Bent.” She also received a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role at the 24th Annual Gemini Awards in 2009.

When she greeted the new “Power Rangers” cast, Lin was quick to recognise her. “Oh my god,” he exclaimed. Even Scott and Montgomery have recognised the actress and they all stood up and hugged Johnson. They also complimented her for looking very young.

The actress started the interview by asking them if the “Power Rangers” 2017 film offers the same positive impact on young children just like the previous movies and television series. Lin explained that the whole point of the upcoming film is to remind the audiences why they loved the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” television series.

Lin shared that there was this five-year-old kid who had visited him at a restaurant. His mom was telling Lin that that his son has been telling his friends at school about “Power Rangers” since he had learned that there is a new movie coming.

For Lin, the primary message of the original television series was about teamwork. It seeks to present the importance of teamwork among the young generation. The film also aims to induce the young people that working together and overcoming challenges together is a fun and positive thing to do.

The film also stars Elizabeth Banks (Rita Repulsa), Bill Hader (Alpha 5) and Bryan Cranston as Zordon. The movie is being directed by Dean Israelite with a script written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz. It is expected to hit Australia theatres on March 23.
