For athletes and sport celebrities, there comes a point in their lives when they are at their physical best. Once these athletes reached their peak, there also comes a point when their athletic capabilities begin to descend. British boxer Amir Khan has said that Manny Pacquiao's best years as a fighter are behind him.

Pacquiao has had his winning streaks, but he has lost his edge, according to Khan. "The relentless, power, and explosiveness are all gone with Pacquiao, and he's not like he used to be," Khan told ESPN's Inside Boxing.

Khan stated Pacquiao had not been able to showcase great performance in his recent fights. He added that Chris Algieri, whom Pacquiao is slated to fight on Nov. 22 in Macau, might present a tough fight for the eight-division Filipino world champion.

Khan cited Pacquiao's age as a factor. He said that the Filipino is getting old and just past his physical peak. According to Khan, Pacquiao's fights with Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez had been tough for the Filipino boxing icon. In addition, Khan thinks that Pacquiao has a lot of distractions in life right now, including his job as a congressman.

Nonetheless, Khan still believes that Pacquiao will emerge victorious of his fight against Algieri. Although, Khan noted that the boxing fans might be surprised with Algieri's skills in the ring.

Khan is set to fight Devon Alexander on Dec. 13. The two will clash for the World Boxing Council, or WBC silver title in Las Vegas. The Bolton-born fighter is confident that a victory over Alexander will finally give him the opportunity to fight Mayweather in 2015.

During the press conference for the fight, Khan revealed how important that the fight is for him. He boasted that he shouldn't have any trouble dealing with a southpaw fighter like Alexander because the last fight he had was with Luiz Collazo, who is also a southpaw fighter. He said that he has taken the experience he had with his fight with Collazo and he's hopeful that it will be enough for him to get the job done against Alexander.
