As “America’s Got Talent” season 11 resumes airing Tuesday, the remaining hopefuls are turning to social media to increase their chances of getting voted through to the semifinals.

While practicing their acts for the third AGT live show, the 12 remaining contestants are also busy hyping their social media activities to reach out to fans and supporters whose votes can shape the outcome of their AGT journey.

The 12-year-old singer-songwriter from New York, Grace VanderWaal, updates her fans on Facebook about her AGT practice as well as her sightseeing trip around Los Angeles. The ukulele-playing Golden Buzzer recipient recently broadcasted two original compositions on YouTube. As of press time, VanderWaal’s “The Good Just Gets Better” registers 331,032 views since Aug. 15 while “Gossip Girl” attracts 182,657 views since Aug. 18.

“I have spent some time writing while I have been here in LA. I hope you enjoy my new original ~ Gossip Girl. I think we can all relate,” she said on Facebook.

Meanwhile, the Edgar Family Band, whose most popular member is Christian artist Nikki Leonti, lets fans follow their recent shows on Facebook. Just recently, the Edgar Family Band went to Lomalinda University Children Hospital to entertain child patients as a way of giving back to the hospital where Nikki’s little brother lost his battle to cancer.

Like Crum, 63-year-old comediane Julia Scotti is trying to secure votes from AGT fans through social media.

There are already 14 semifinalists on NBC’s top-rated talent show. Hopefuls are vying for the US$1 million (AU$1.3 million) cash prize and the prestige of winning “America’s Got Talent” season 11.

NBC will resume airing of “America’s Got Talent” 2016 live from the Dolby Theatre on Aug. 23. AGT airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the US and every Saturday in Australia on FOX8.
