Only five acts from the first batch of 11 semifinalists will be voted through to compete for the US$1 million (AU$1.3 million) prize of “America’s Got Talent” season 11.

Voters will decide who among singers Grace VanderWaal, Laura Bretan, Sal Valentinetti, Musicality and Edgar Family Band, magicians Jon Dorenbos and Blake Vogt, standup comedians Lori Mae Hernandez and Tape Face, and performers Deadly Games and Malevo will advance to the AGT finals.

Eiligible voters can submit their votes via “America’s Got Talent” official mobile app, Facebook, Google or by calling the unique toll-free numbers assigned to each contestant. (Read more: AGT 4 ways to vote)

Voting results will be announced Wednesday night live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. AGT airs on NBC every Tuesday and Wednesday in the United States and every Saturday in Australia via FOX8.

Here’s a recap of the acts on the first semifinals night:

Crowd favorite Grace VanderWaal debuted another original composition, titled “Light the Sky,” in a bid to compete at the AGT finale. The 12-year-old ukulele-playing singer-songwriter hails from New York.

Philadelphia Eagles long-snapper Jon Dorenbos mixed his football skills and magic prowess to elevate his act to deserve a spot in the AGT finals. The 35-year-old magician impressed the AGT judges with his attempt at teaching United States geography during his semifinals act.

The 20-year-old singer from New York, Sal Valentinetti, serenaded the AGT judges and audience with his rendition of Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life.”

Blake Vogt showed off his teleporting skills when the 27-year-old magician flew to the Dolby Theater’s upper mezzanine from the stage within seconds.

Christian artist Nikki Leonti leads the Edgar Family Band’s version of Rascal Flatts’ classic “Bless the Broken Road”

Standup comedian Lori Mae Hernandez made AGT judges gasped as she described Miley Cyrus as “Barbie gone bad.” The 13-year-old lass admitted that she outgrew Barbie the way Mariah Carey did with ex-husband and AGT judge Nick Cannon.

Teenage voice ensemble Musicality wowed the crowd with a different rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”

The knife-throwing duo Deadly Games brought its act to a higher level with the use of crossbow during the first semifinals night.

Despite performing as a mime, Tape Face’s hilarious balloon act made the audience and AGT judges laugh a lot.

Argentinian male dancers Malevo made a splash out of its semifinals act with water and fire to secure a spot in the finale of NBC's top-rated talent show.

Last but not the least, 13-year-old opera singer Laura Bretan presented a spine-tingling performance on “Pie Jesu” as a fitting finale for the first semifinals night.
