It was as if Heejun Han's supporters agreed last week that it was time for him to go. He was in the bottom three again this week, and this time, he got the lowest number of votes.

Looking back to Heejun's previous performances, he could not have had a better 'last song' on Idol.

After singing A Song for You by Donny Hathaway the previous night, judge Steven Tyler told Heejun, "You did it. You turned it around. You let the song sing you and you made that song come alive."

Heejun was never in the bottom three until after he sang Billy Joel's My Life last week in such a self-indulgent, almost rebellious manner that it irked Tyler, prompting him to tell Heejun: "At some point, you've got to take it more serious."

Heejun insisted he was in the contest for the disabled kids that he was helping back home, and not to be someone he's not. In the end, the bottom three is where 'serious' brought Heejun.

Tonight on American Idol's Top 8 results show, Tyler told Heejun the judges would not use their one 'save' on him.

Having been popular for his charisma and candor since auditions week, Heejun enjoyed an easy straight trip to the semi-finalists' Top 10, unlike Erika Van Pelt, Jeremy Rosado and Deandre Brackensick, who were all wildcard picks by the judges for the Top 13.

Deandre, meanwhile, was safe for the week. This forecast was only two-thirds right about the bottom three. Even Joshua Ledet was safe, which could mean that both Deandre and Joshua have stronger following than Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine, who both landed in the bottom for the first time, leaving only two girls - Jessica Sanchez and Elise Testone - as strong contenders in the Top 8.

While Elise has not been consistently safe (in fact, she was almost a bottom regular), she could benefit from the votes of those who previously supported Erika Van Pelt, who went home last week.

Tonight's results show should be a wake up call for both Hollie and Skylar. The former has not shown any transformation or "other side" since the live shows began, while the latter has not chosen a generally popular song that could showcase her pop star quality and the audience could easily relate to.

In an effort to pave the way for another female Idol in five years, Jimmy Iovine went to as far as telling the girls voting for all the guys to reconsider. Then again, it seems Phillip Phillips has a wider range of supporters than just the teen girls; and having been seen as the guy closest to Heejun Han throughout the competition, he will earn the support of Heejun's voters.

Even Stevie Nicks saw it: Phillip Phillips could go all the way and win this Idol season.

Will Elise Testone raise the bar higher next week on the '80s night? Will Colton Dixon deliver something without trying so hard? Will Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine show something different, or will they become the new Erika-Elise tandem in the bottom three?

The Top 8 Idol contestants have a busy week ahead.
