'American Idol The Farewell Season' updates: Colorado and Georgia auditions for 'American Idol' 2016 to be aired on Jan. 6

The much awaited “American Idol The Farewell Season” is set to premiere on Wednesday on Fox. The progenitor of talent hunt shows is gearing up to bid adieu to the audience but the show has lots to offer to its viewers in the last Season.

The show has gifted many artists like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson amongst others to the world and has ruled the television world for nearly 15 years. The auditions for the final Season of the show have turned out to be better than ever as it had some the most unexpected surprises.

The audience was in for a surprise when they saw Kanye West hop onto the stage to audition for “American Idol The Farewell Season.” The rapper was accompanied by his wife Kim Kardashian who cheered West from behind the stage as he performed a cappella version of his own 2005 hit track “Gold Digger” on the show.

Judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. were visibly impressed by West’s performance and handed over the Ticket to Hollywood to West without wasting a minute. Kim had previously shared a picture of Kanye West’s audition a few months back on her Instagram.

The show has been amongst the top rated shows of the US for over a decade now and the makers are going gaga over the success of the show. Bill Carroll, media analyst with Katz Television Group, was all praises for the show in a recent interview.

“It not only was a huge success for Fox but impacted everyone else. It once again underscored the fact that broadcast television is communal and an event,” Inquirer quoted Bill as showing. The show has given a new edge to the music industry and has worked wonders in nourishing, polishing and promoting the young talents.

The Jan. 6 premiere will have the Colorado and Georgia auditions for “American Idol” 2016. Those based in the United Kingdom can watch the premiere of “American Idol The Farewell Season” on Jan.11 2016 on 4Music.
