He was out, then he was in, then he was at the bottom, then he was safe, and how he's at the exit again -- all in barely three weeks since Americal Idol announced its semi-finalists this Season 11.

On the performance night of American Idol Season 11's Top 12, baritone Jermaine Jones will be sent home over discoveries that he was arrested twice in 2011 and has outstanding warrants, TMZ reports.

Does that mean America will see only 11 live performances tonight?

Jermaine, who stands five foot and eight and a half inches tall, has been called the 'gentle giant' for his noticeably meek and friendly demeanor in contrast to his physique during Idol's Portland auditions.

TMZ reported one of the reasons for the arrests involved violence.

Now that Idol producers have learned of his dark past, would they still call him a 'gentle giant?' If TMZ got the details right, it would seem appropriate to call Jermaine a 'big liar' instead.

But it is too soon to judge or say anything more at this point, largely because Jermaine, 25, has yet to air his side of the story. This may be the reason why there are unconfirmed reports that Idol still decided to have him on its live broadcast Wednesday night on Fox.

EOnline.com reported there is a video footage showing how Idol producers talked to Jermaine about his situation, and this will be aired on the performance night, barely 24 hours since TMZ released the disqualification news.

TMZ also reported that Jermaine lied about not having a relationship with his father. So when the rebuked father called the show's producers, telling them that he lied, the Idol team checked on Jermaine's personal history, subsequently discovering his previous arrests.

The Washington Post and MTV reported a tweet from Jermaine Jones' official Idol account: "Awww I will no longer b on the show."

The message was removed soon after it was posted, both sources noted.

Now what will happen next? Idol is close to discovering who will join the next American Idol tour. Will everyone be safe this round? Will another contestant, i.e. yet-another-wildcard, come back?

Jermaine was not originally included in the semi-finalists who would perform for votes on a live broadcast. Idol judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler reportedly decided to call him back after viewing the audition rounds again.

The season's first voting results revealed Jermaine was in America's Top 5 among the boys. He was not as lucky last week, when host Ryan Seacrest announced he was on the guys' bottom three. But he could stay at least a week longer because the bottom vote drawer among the boys, Jeremy Rosado, was chosen by the judges over girls' weakest, Elise Testone, to go home.

There is reason to doubt that the judges could still save Jermaine at this point. If there are things that are really not supposed to happen, Jermaine's inclusion on Idol must be one of them.
