“American Idol” 2015 finale results will be announced live Wednesday on FOX. Clark Beckham, who used to be a street musician, is up against band musician Nick Fradiani. Beckham’s fans have cheered him on as he belted and grooved his way to the top two spots this AI season. Can he beat Nick Fradiani?

“American Idol XIV” judge Harry Connick Jr. said Clark Beckham won Round 2 of the finale. Idol creator Simon Fuller chose “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers for Beckham, and all three judges said they liked it. In the end, however, the judges’ total score was either a tie or in favour of Nick.

Idol judge Jennifer Lopez could not choose between Beckham’s “Georgia On My Mind” (Ray Charles) and Fradiani’s “Bright Lights” (Matchbox 20) after Round 1. She said the two could not be compared. Connick Jr. then gave Round 1 to Beckham, saying the two had a tie after Round 2. Simon Fuller chose “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz for Round 2.

“American Idol” 2015 finale Round 3 gave both Beckham and Fradiani a chance to sing their first record in case they win. It’s “Champion” for Beckham and “Beautiful Life” for Fradiani. Idol host Ryan Seacrest asked Keith Urban to decide on the third round, and the country musician picked Nick.

Connick Jr. noted that it was not easy to sing two consecutive slow songs in a competition. He gives props to Beckham for doing it without boring the audience. Beckham has always been into the classics, leaning into slower, more groovy and jazzy songs since his Nashville audition. The first ever "American Idol" winner, Kelly Clarkson, once joked on the show that she got pregnant after listening to Beckham during the "Kelly Clarkson" night.

Comparing their reaction to Fradiani’s audition in New York, Lopez and Connick Jr. registered a more favourable response to Beckham’s audition. (Idol alum Adam Lambert filled in for Urban in New York.) In the latter weeks of the live competition, however, the judges have always said either one of them could be crowned the champion in the “American Idol” 2015 finale.

Watch Beckham’s audition clip below. He sang “It’s A Man’s World” by James Brown. He performed this again on the Top 12 night, and it became one of the most viewed videos on the “American Idol” channel on YouTube. Will Clark win “American Idol” Season 14?
