“With great power comes responsibility,” the line popularized in the early installment of hit film Spider Man seemed to have resonated on Candice Glover as she admits the pressures are building up after she was named Season 12 winner of ‘American Idol.’

While she had dreamt of nabbing the coveted Idol title especially after being dropped twice before her big win on Season 12, Candice said it’s not easy to have the title. It’s not all bed of roses, so to speak.

Candice made her revelations in an interview with TVLine's Michael Slezak.

"I think it puts pressure on me knowing that I'm one of...four (girls) and I'm the fifth girl and the four of them had amazing careers,” Candice said in an interview, according to MStarz.

The 23-year-old winner from South Carolina was referring to being the fifth among the female winners on 'American Idol' who have been enjoying great careers brought by their talents and passion in music : Kelly Clarkson (Season 1 Winner); Fantasia Barrino (Season 3, Winner); Carrie Underwood (Season 4 Winner) and Jordin Sparks (Season 6 Winner).

Candice’s win has been quite controversial since it’s been many years when a female contender had made the cut at the finale and brought home the title. What is quite challenging for Candice are all the female winners before her have had a slew of accolades in their names since they embarked on their music journey after their respective wins.

Of these women, Carrie Underwood has recorded the most awards - - which goes without saying as parameters to look into the success of any Idol winner. Since her win in 2005, Carrie has had seven (7) American Music Awards, sixteen (16) Billboard Music Awards and six (6) Grammy Awards.

Following Carrie is Kelly Clarkson who also has good numbers in her plate. The first Idol winner has had six (6) American Music Awards; twelve (12) Billboards Music Awards and three (3) Grammy Awards.

Fantasia Barrino, Season 3 winner, only had three (3) Billboard Music Awards and one (1) Grammy Awards while Jordin Sparks remains to be the least awarded singer of the four female winners with only one American Music Awards in 2011.

It should be noted however, that another female contestant, Jennifer Hudson who did not win the coveted title but eliminated on the 7th place in Season 3 has had more interesting careers than most, including winners. Hudson still has no American Music Awards and Billboards Music Awards to her name but her run in the music industry has been duly noted and recognized after she received the elusive Academy Awards in 2007.

Hudson was named the 2007 Best Supporting Actress Award for her role in Dream Girls and this she has had the joy of being recognized for since then. Jennifer had also been a strong advocate for weight loss and other causes. Her good name has earned her a seat on the American Idol judge panel for Season 13.

These accolades, Candice Glover sees as challenge and she admits that she has a tough road ahead of her.

Candice said, “So I can't stop now. I have to make sure that I do what I can to have a good career."

Well said. Candice may need to begin with her choice of music. Her first single, “I Am Beautiful” only sold a poor 54,000 downloads on its first week. This was more than fifty percent lower than the sales recorded by 2010 winner, Lee De Wyze at 100,000 downloads for his cover of U2’s “Beautiful Day.” Kree Harrison did not fare well either on her first single, “All Cried Out,” which had only 24,000 downloads in its first week upon release. Sales of the 2013 top 2 winners on American Idol Season 12 have raised question if indeed “America had made the right choice in Candice and Kree and not Angie Miller.”
