Lady Gaga has won her first Golden Globe nomination, and the singer-actress celebrated the news by screaming in her apartment in New York. She has earned her first acting nomination for her performance as Countess in FX’s horror anthology series, “American Horror Story” Season 5.

Soon after the Golden Globe nomination was announced, Lady Gaga took to Twitter on Thursday to post, “I apologize to my neighbours I ‘m still screaming in my apt in NY! I’m nominated as an actress for a Golden Globe what a dream is this real!”

“My mom and my manager @wanaynay are so emotional about our Best Actress Golden Globe Nomination and so happy for Ryan Murphy [Co-creator of ‘American Horror Story’] and the whole gang for HOTEL’s nomination for Best TV Series!”

In “American Horror Story-Hotel,” Lady Gaga plays a creepy character called Elizabeth -- a self-styled, blood-and-sex-thirsty countess. The glamorous character takes part in a blood filled orgy at Hotel Cortez, and she kills with her sharp chain mail glove.

Lady Gaga will have to beat Kirsten Dunst (“Fargo”), Sarah Hay (“American Crime”) and Queen Latifah (“Bessie”) on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016 to win the Golden Globe for Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Film.

“American Horror Story” has scored eight Golden Globe nominations till now, including Lady Gaga’s nomination. In 2012, Jessica Lange won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress – Series, Miniseries, or Television Film.
