For human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, who is known for her impeccable fashion sense, 2015 has been a busy year in terms of her cases and her extensive wardrobe. She is making waves as a fashionista on the red carpet as well as in the courtroom. The British-Lebanese barrister came into the public eye due to her lavish wedding to Hollywood actor George Clooney in September 2014.

However, Amal cultivated her own personal style long before meeting her husband, Harper’s Bazaar reports. Before her marriage, her go-to designer for work was French brand Paule Ka, and she enhanced her official look by carrying Alice+Olivia bags. Her wardrobe currently consists of sleek tailored skirt suits and pantsuits for office wear.

She has several dresses, gowns and evening gowns. The lawyer’s ensembles contain a playful touch, and she reportedly never repeats a dress. Her designer outfits mostly consist of European luxury ready-to-wear along with vintage and couture labels.

The 37-year-old’s sartorial style consists of very feminine and elegant labels like Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney and Giambattista Valli and the list is endless. This year, Amal brought back some 1970s style in her dressing. Also, in the beauty department, Amal has opted for her signature bouncy blowout and bold red lipstick this year.

A source told US Weekly in April that the 54-year-old actor had installed a runway, floor-to-ceiling mirrors and a light system in her closet at the couple’s home in Studio City, Los Angeles. The closet houses Amal’s Dior, Oscar de la Renta and Alexander McQueen ensembles.

Talking about his relationship with his wife Amal, Hollywood heartthrob George said in a lighter vein during an interview on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert in September that he is the “arm candy” in their relationship, ET Online reports.

Her actor husband said in an interview in May that his wife has great taste. Clooney even joked that they required “another bedroom” at their home for her designer wardrobe. Amal also had to deal with afair share of brickbats due to her designer wardrobe. In January this year, when she was asked which designer she was wearing, she brushed off the question laughing and pointed at her robe (Ede & Ravenscroft), E Online reports.

The human rights lawyer represented Armenia at the European Court of Human Rights in January. On May, she faced criticism for wearing a gown from the design house Maison Margiela designed by John Galliano at the 2015 MET Gala. Galliano was arrested for his anti-semetic comment while working at Dior in 2011. In September, she was criticised by Edward Faulks QC, a justice minister, when he said that she gets cases thanks to her actor husband.

Cindy Crawford recently gushed about Amal in an interview with ETalk Canada during a promotion for her new book "Becoming" on Dec. 10 in Toronto. The supermodel and friend of George called Amal Clooney beautiful and "the whole package."
