Alpha Delta Pi sorority in the University of Texas recently showcased their recruitment video for the new 2016 semester. The video immediately went viral but for the wrong reasons. Some people thought that the Alpha Delta Pi sorority video was quite creepy and reminded them of haunting scenes in cult culture.

The Alpha Delta Pi sorority video lasted 40 minutes. The clip started with three officers of the girls group standing in front of large green double door with huge metal knockers. They introduced themselves in a gleeful way, adding that they waited all summer for the recruits and are glad that they have finally come.

The clip, which was later edited by someone else and titled, “Alpha Pi Beta at the Gates of Hell,” on YouTube, next featured the girls opening the two doors and presenting dozens of girls lined up and cheering in unison, as if welcoming new demons into the fiery furnace. The girls were chanting and clapping their hands, all with an impish grin on their face. It also did not help that most of their chanting remained unrecognizable.

The Alpha Delta Pi sorority video immediately spread in social media sites, garnering negative comments and edited versions. One user stated that the Alpha Delta Pi sorority girls’ new clip reminded him of the satanic cult rituals during the Manson days. The group has not yet responded to the issue.

The Cut reported that some sorority recruitment videos are very well-made, featuring excellent coordination and meticulous planning. If sorority recruitment videos were a contest, the Delta Gamma group of the University of Miami would most likely win the top spot. The clip included several great scenes, such as an aerial shot of the girls forming a giant anchor on the beach, bikini-clad beauties having fun and jumping in the ocean, and great music throughout.

The Alphi Phi sorority of the Arizona State University would be awarded second place for their great desert backdrop and wide array of activities, which included paddleboarding, cliff diving, skateboarding and dancing. The Alphi Phi sorority of the University of Southern California would garner third place for their recruitment video, which showed the girls rollerblading, dancing, running and jumping. More updates and details on the Alpha Delta Pi sorority recruitment video are expected soon.
