Apple's 4-inch iPhone 6C will be among the products that are going to be revealed by the company on September, according to multiple online reports. This smaller iPhone will be something interesting, considering that the tech giant has been focusing on developing smartphones with larger screens.

The iPhone 6C rumours first surfaced online when a case-making company claims to having received images of the model's prototype, according to MicGadget. Based on the source's claims, the company is already set for mass producing cases for the 4-inch smartphone, which may be released either on the last week of October, or the first week of November.

Design-wise, though, it is pretty much the same with the iPhone 6. Basically, it looks like an iPhone 6 device, but smaller. Tech Times has reported that the device will have a starting storage capacity of 16 GB, which is half the starting memory of the iPhone 6S.

It is also worth noting that Apple has first released a low cost iPhone in 2013 - the iPhone 5C. However, its sales was not as successful as the Cupertino-based company had initially hoped, which was why the company had decided to forego releasing a next model last year. This year, though, the leaked prototype images seem to indicate that Apple has plans of launching the iPhone 6C.

It was also previously reported just this May that Apple may have revealed by accident - or maybe accidentally-on-purpose - some key details about the iPhone 6C on the company's iPhone Lightning Dock page. Since this controversy, avid Apple users were divided. Some immediately believed that it was the real iPhone 6C, while others were more cynical and assumed it was an editing error that was quickly corrected.

To date, Apple has neither confirmed nor denied that an iPhone 6C will, indeed, be unveiled in September.
