If twerking is in trend, we can't see Britney Spears left behind in the race to twerk too. There is speculation in the media that an upcoming new single by Spears will be called "Werk Bitch."

The "Hit Me Baby..." singer has been teasing her fans on Twitter lately about a "top secret" announcement on September 17 and fans of Spears believe it will be the release of this twerk song which will feature in her eighth studio LP, according to reports by breatheheavy.com.

Singer songwriter Jean Baptiste, who has collaborated with Britney on her upcoming album, also reportedly appeared to confirm the song title in a tweet sent to the singer on Sunday that read, "WERK BITCH!!!!"

The 31-year-old singer herself also used the hashtag #WERK in many of her tweets, especially the ones that related to her shooting the music video. "Taking a quick break to say hi to all my tweeps :) Rehearsing for something top secret happening next week... #WERK," the singer tweeted.

"We don't stop til we get enough! #WERKBITCH @britneyspears," tweeted Britney's fan site Breathe Heavy.

Sia Furler, an Aussie singer, who has reportedly been hired by team Britney to work on the new song also tweeted to the singer that her "vocals" sound wonderful on the song.

"@britneyspears your vocal on this tune is outstanding. WERK!," Sia used the hash tag thus confirming to quite an extent that the song has something to do with twerking.

"The song is both beautiful and heartbreaking @Sia. Evokes SO much emotion every time I hear it," Britney replied to Sia revealing more information about the song.

The mother of two boys wants to look great when the song releases on Sep 17 and hence has been having regular sessions with a vocal coach. "Just finishing up with my vocal coach & now I'm off to dance rehearsals," Spears tweeted.

Will.I.Am, Naughty Boy and William Orbit are reportedly featured on her yet untitled LP. Spears' last work includes will.i.am's "Scream and Shout" as well as her "Smurfs 2 soundtrack."

The former American Idol judge had earlier expressed her desire to learn twerking from Miley Cyrus.

"Loving your new video for #WeCantStop @MileyCyrus! Maybe you can teach me how to twerk sometime LOL ;)," Britney had tweeted in June to Miley.

So is it time we see Britney Spears twerk? What do you say?
