Say “Hello” to a new British invasion as Adele is rumoured to perform at Super Bowl 51 in Houston next year.

“There is nobody bigger in the world than Adele right now and organisers are doing absolutely everything they can try to persuade her to sign up,” a National Football League source told The Sun. “She’s sold out every date on her tour, everyone wants a piece of her and they know they can bank on her bringing in the viewers.”

Despite organisers trying their best to win the “Rolling in the Deep” singer’s heart, it doesn’t seem like an easy battle.

“It’s Adele’s nerves that are the issue — it hasn’t been an easy sell,” the NFL source added. This makes perfect sense since the singer was never really shy about her intense stage fright.

Earlier this February, nearly 111.9 million US viewers tuned in to watch Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars light the stage on fire at San Francisco’s Levi Stadium. The numerous amount of people watching turned out to be the third most-watched broadcast in US television history.

Adele described it as the “best moment of my life” when she headlined Glastonbury’s iconic Pyramid Stage in June. Maybe performing at America’s Super Bowl will have her to re-think.

If she truly is set to perform the half time show, Adele would join an elite list of music VIPs who have graced the stage, including Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Prince, The Rolling Stone, Madonna, Bruno Mars and Coldplay.

In October, the soul siren released her comeback hit “Hello.” She is currently on her sold-out world tour in support of her third studio album "25," which spent 10 amazing weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

A representative for Adele and NFL left no comments about the rumours.
