Introducing, the Acer Aspire Switch 12, the newest PC convertible that will hit the market very soon. The newest hardware from Acer can take the form of a traditional clamshell laptop or a typical tablet. With its 360-degree hinge and kickstand, it allows this new version to transform into three other shapes such as display, tent and desktop; providing various viewing angles, PCWorld reports.

Just when you thought you were amazed by the Aspire Switch 10 which can take the form of four display modes. The Taiwanese PC maker wasn't content with such innovation. The 12.5-inch Switch 12 following its predecessor appears to be more flexible.

You might find the five forms helpful enough on different instances. It can transform as a notebook, a tablet, a presentation display, a tent and a desktop.

A desktop you might ask? But seriously, with the desktop mode you get to detach the keyboard portion off of its base that allows you to type a little away from the monitor.

Aside from flexing an additional form, the Switch 12 offers a lot more under its hood. According to Engadget's initial review, the new hardware offers a sharper screen at 1080p resolution. It also boasts its faster Core M processor and a 60GB or 120GB of solid storage. Despite the more power consuming components, this new shape-shifter can stand for a good eight long hours of battery life. It is also equipped with a micro-HDMI video output, micro-USB 3.0 and dual antennas for Wi-Fi for peripherals.

Another thing to note with the Switch12 is its amazing display covered with Corning's Gorilla Glass. Plus its low-noise fanless design and having the Core M processor allows efficient performance yet low power consumption for thin tablets.

Acer provides an almost the same PC convertible manufactured by rival company, Toshiba. However, the Japanese company leads the wagon with its device able to switch into seven different modes.

Acer has not revealed the exact date of its US launch but it will advance in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia by end of 2014. Flagged at 649 euros ($810) as its starting price.
